Mrs. Marissa Russo joined Ivy Academia Entrepreneurial Charter School as a Specialized Academic Instructor in 2014. While at Ivy, she has been the case manager at both elementary and middle/high campus. She is currently the Dean of Special Education Compliance for TK-12 . She has worked as an Education Specialist for Torrance Unified School District and Green Dot Public Schools. Mrs. Russo has worked with many different populations including students with autism, students with different cognitive deficits and students with extreme behaviors. She has taught in multiple academic areas including Middle School level Mathematics, Science and Reading Intervention.
Prior to having a career in education, Mrs. Russo earned a B.S degree in Civil Engineering from Loyola Marymount University in 2005. She worked in the land development for over three years prior to pursuing a career in Special Education. While volunteering at Ride Your Horse, a therapeutic riding program, Mrs. Russo realized that her call for life was to work with students with special needs. At a young age, Mrs. Russo had a passion for volunteering at Kathleen Special Games, LMU Special Games and the Special Olympics.
