December Holiday-New Site Update:
First and foremost Happy Holidays to all of our extended Ivy families. May the season bring only joy and happiness to you and all those around you! Please, enjoy this very special time of year.
The Conditional Use Permit (CUP) continues to work its way through the city. Ivy’s expectations are that the city gives conditional use and then the CUP goes to the next stage which includes neighborhood council input. At this time we’ll be asking for your (Ivy families) assistance in attending the neighborhood council meetings and speaking on the schools behalf.
Ivy has contacted arborists to visit our new site and inspect the trees that surround the perimeter of the campus as well as those on the interior of the campus. Some of the trees will need to be removed out of safety concerns and another group will need to be removed due to age and disease. Many are lovely eucalyptus trees that have stood for many years and as they are removed new healthy trees will be planted in their places.
We have also had concrete/pavement contractors visit the new site to inspect the condition of the walkways, parking areas and all other paved areas. Due to roots undermining paved locations and age there are many locations that will need to be removed and repaved.
Office furniture that was generously donated at the end of last year was moved from a local storage facility to the new campus. Although the new desks, filing cabinets, tables and chairs were relocated to the new Ivy campus they will remain in storage until more permanent locations can be determined.
Again all of us at Ivy Academia wish all of our extended school family a fabulous holiday season. We will continue to keep everyone abreast as information becomes available.
Happy Holidays to everyone!
